Any Day Above Ground Is A Good One.
National Museum of Funeral History

The 1921 RockFalls Motorized Hearse rear compartment was not only beautifully created, but also very functional. From the hinged hand carved doors to the wood lined interior the RockFalls rear compartment was very extravagant. Located in the front of the compartment was a light which allowed for the funeral director to load and unload a casket a night. A tray is visible at the top of the compartment allowing for flowers or other belongs to also be carried. Notice on the floor of the compartment metal casket guides sticking up. These guides can be moved in and out by a handle located on the back edge of the vehicle. When this handle is turned the guides move inward or outward allowing any sizes casket to fit safely. Located below the handle is a drawer where a complete set of RockFalls tools, engine driven tire pump, and jack are located. A tail light was provided on this vehicle to alert drivers behind that the vehicle was stopping.
